Conflict-Free Diamonds – Our Firm Guarantee
Natalie Diamonds understands that our customers are concerned about where their diamonds originate from. We share your concern.
Every diamond sold by Natalie Diamonds is certified as conflict free, in full compliance with the Patriot Act, the Kimberley Process, and relevant United Nations resolutions. Company internal guidelines exceed the government requirements.
Our contracts with our suppliers bound them to guarantee that the diamonds they offer to us comply with all applicable laws and are certified conflict-free. We purchase polished diamonds from sources who are members of the professional diamond trade.
Kimberley Process Compliance and The Patriot Act
The United Nations established in 2003 the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) in order to exclude diamonds associated with conflicts from entering the diamond market. KPCS Governments certify that rough diamonds are derived from sources that are known to be conflict-free.
In wishing to extend the KPCS to include polished diamonds, the World Diamond Council set up a System of warranties that guarantee that polished diamonds come from a conflict-free rough source. All polished diamonds that are sold in the U.S are required to follow the Patriot Act and the sanctions by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Every U.S. dealer is required to adhere to Kimberley compliance, and will be subject to appropriate penalties from the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Treasury.
